Cecilia Rodríguez Oddone, Ceciro
(Paysandú Uruguay) desarrolla su producción dentro del muralismo, la ilustración, el grabado y la gráfica. Su trabajo se centra en la construcción de imágenes que exploran temas alrededor de la naturaleza, la identidad, la diversidad y el feminismo.
Ha sido reconocida a nivel nacional e internacional en instancias como el Premio de Ilustración de Literatura Infantil y Juvenil (Uruguay), la Bologna Children’s Book Fair (Italia), IRUDIKA (España) y CICLA (China).
Sus murales están en ciudades de América Latina y Europa y ha desarrollado su práctica en residencias artísticas en Italia, Francia, Argentina, Colombia y España.
Es miembro fundadora de Casa Wang, colectivo de artistas urbanos con 10 años de trayectoria en Montevideo. Su obra ha sido expuesta en museos, festivales y publicaciones de varios países. Ha participado activamente en proyectos de formación, edición y arte comunitario.
Licenciada en diseño, con formación continua en grabado, serigrafía e ilustración.
Mi práctica artística se basa en la exploración visual y construcción de imágenes, desde la escucha activa y el registro de lo efímero. Documento lo íntimo, momentos insignificantes donde lo mínimo y fugaz se manifiesta. La imagen no se impone, sino que se revela. Mi producción se desarrolla entre la serigrafía, el grabado, la ilustración y el muralismo.
La experimentación con tinta y soportes textiles ha abierto nuevas dimensiones, donde el soporte ya no solo es medio, sino un actor activo en la creación de la imagen. Conceptualmente me intereso por narrativas que vinculan personas y naturaleza, encuentros pequeños, oníricos, profundos. Trabajo con la imagen y la cultura visual, creo en la potencia de ella, tanto en una pequeña ilustración como en un gran mural.

Her murals are in cities from America and Europe and she developed her practices in artistic residences in Italy, France, Argentina, Colombia and Spain.
She is a founding member of Casa Wang, an artistic collective with more than 10 years of trajectory in Montevideo. Her artwork has been exhibited in museums, fairs and publications of several countries. She actively has participated in formation, editing and community art projects.

Statement.
My artistic practice is based on the visual exploration and image building from an active listening and registering ephemeral scenes, where the intimate manifest in a minimal way.
The image is not imposed, but it reveals itself. The experimentation with ink and textiles has opened new dimensions, where the textile is not just the means, but an active actor in the image creation.
Conceptually, I’m interested in narratives that connect people and nature, events that can be little, dreamlike and profound. I believe in the power of the image and the visual culture, whether it’s a little illustration or a big mural.
